  1. I've heard its very far removed from the real India too many tourists and drugs are rife.  I've just got back from Kerala I would throughly recommend it, right amount of tourists, chilled out resorts, people are very friendly, lots to see. x

  2. yes...been there 4 times...just got back actually.  first impressions are a bit of a culture shock - but it is by far the most beautiful place we have ever been.

people are friendly, weather perfect, warms seas, good food & not too touristy.  excellent place!

  3. aint been there but after wat happened to0 that poor girl ,no way its a proper dump from wat ive heard

  4. AWESOME!but south Goa is bad.nothing much to do there except sight seeing n it is 10 times more expensive than north.

  5. Was out there in 34 with the raj.. popped a few tigers and rode a few elephants lovely little corner of the Empire! pity about the natives though bloody foul things they are. Eat the hottest bloody muck you've ever tasted...

  6. it's the Indian equivalent of the Spanish costa's

nice if you like that sort of thing, some very good tourist developments, you could have a good beach holiday there definitely - you can get a package holiday there for a reasonable price - and the people in Goa are very friendly

but if you want to see the real India go somewhere else

  7. My dad and brother went

    Its awesome

    especially the hotels!:)

  8. the south is much quieter than the north with better class hotels. it,s mainly for the sun and a cheap way of life. don,t be put off by some of the answers as the goan people on the whole are very friendly and the wrong element tend to stay away from the tourist areas. above all tho., don,t forget its still a third world country with a lot of poverty and low wages but its all laid back. beaches on the whole are good with white sand and good beach shacks for food and drink, main restaurants offer all kinds of food, from local fish dishes to chiese to english, they only give what people want and no, there is no harry ramsdens!!!

all in all its a brill place.

  9. It was nice and unspoiled in the 70's, these days it is just a 3rd world Benidorm. Stella on draught, English pubs and Harry Ramsden's korma flavoured fish & chips.

Avoid it, go further down the coast to Kerala. Much nicer.
