Hi, do you know how exploration benefits a country economically?

Use this example to form an answer-

When the "New Land" (aka America" was discovered, all of the European established countries wanted their share of the land.  England, in particular, wanted the land for new resources there (new animals, food, etc). Also, the religious pilgrims wanted a place where they could practice their distinct religion in peace. Lastly, England was going through a major population increase, so they could dump their excess people in this new empty land.

New land gives a country more resources to trade, buy and sell, space for citizens, new territory in a different geographical location, and a larger surface area for the country.
