Hi, does anyone know the importance of having EEC certificate for teaching in preschools of MA state?

I am looking for job in a preschool in MA state and I often hear about having an EEC certificate, I just want to know if anyone out there has gone through it.. and wether I should get one before applying for jobs?

hello, i work for Head Start in Western Mass. EEC's are not required for teaching assistants, but for teacher and lead teacher positions, yes. my particular company will hire you as a "TA" or teaching assistant, and then pay for you to get any creds you need to advance to teacher or lead teacher status. (better $$$)
