hi, i was wondering how to re-caulk a bathtub (step-by-step) cuz ours needs to be re-dne and my moms gonna pay me 10$ to do it..... she really hates it but she knows how 2 do it..... i dont wanna bug her for directions cuz that totally defeats the purpose. lol=] well, TY in advanced!! =]

  1. The way I do it is:  Put tape (painters tape is the best I have used) on both sides of the crack line you wish to caulk.

    Using a caulk gun and "Tub and Tile" caulk I put a bead of caulk along the crack.

    I then put on a rubber glove (actually i use a bread bag) and smooth out ~ fill in ~ make it even and neat ~ the caulk.  

    The tape prevents the caulk from getting onto areas you don't want it to be on.  Let your caulk set up (or dry) about five minutes then remove the tape and your project should look as good as if a professional did it.

  2. You will need to remove all the old caulking first and then wipe it down with some rubbing alcohol. Take the silicone caulk and run a bead. Take a clorox or lysol wipe and put your finger through it and smooth out the caulk. remove the excess from both sides with the wipes until it is clean. Good luck and I would charge more than $10.

  3. Use the tape as the other post stated. I would only use 100% silicone caulk. Probably white caulk.
