  1. It generally costs between $2 and $3 to get a mouse at Petco or Petsmart. I would recommend that you not get any mice unless you can have two or four. I do recommend CritterTrail cages due to the tunneling, which is very good for exercise.

http://www.petco.com/product/11499/Super... - This cage is great if you're interested in having two or four mice in one cage! It provides a lot of room for run around time, as well as different levels of housing.

If you have any additional questions, just e-mail me!

    Hope this helped.

  2. they do not cost $2-$3!!!!! They cost $10-$20 depending on which breed u get. Get one at petsmart! Not petco!!!!! if u go on petsmart's website, you can look the cages up! Here's a link:http://www.petsmart.com/family/index.jsp...

It's on the mouse cage page! :)

  3. I really suggest not getting a mouse...get a pet rat instead...i have one...and he is sitting right next to me on my shoulder.if you want a pet that will actually acknowlede you...then get  a rat...they are intelegent...and cute!

  4. They usually cost 2-5 dollars.  Even though you say "not a feeder mouse" large pet store chains do not see a difference.  The mice sold as pets are just feed mice that they put in a cage.  Those mice usually do not have any socialization by humans and are not very hearty.

Your best bet is first to see if your local animal shelter has any mice.  When they do get them, they are usually there for many months before getting adopted.  The cost is about the same as a pet store but your money will go towards helping other animals rather than to a large corporation.  Plus you'll be giving some guys a new home!

If that isn't an option, the next best thing is a local breeder (run a google search) or a small local pet shop.  A small pet shop can usually tell you where they get their mice from.  Most of the time it's from some local breeder.  The mice usually have been handled since they were babies and are used to humans.

I'd check out martin's cages for a mouse cage.  I have one for my rats and love it!  Lots of levels and places to hang toys to provide interaction for your little guys.

Really do your research regarding mice.  The internet has lots of great sites that can help you out.  Mice live for about two years, so make sure you're willing to make that kind of a commitment.

    Hope that helps!

  5. The prices go anywhere from $2-10 for rodents, besides chinchillas. I just want to let you know that I have bought many pets from Petco, including rodents, and they really have all died from being sick at the store. It's just a fair warning to you. I have never tried PetsMart though, so maybe you should lean toward them. Good luck! :)

For more questions email or post more details.

  6. Whats wrong with a feeder mouse? You should get a few for cheap and do lab experiments on them. Got some old prescription that you don't even remember what it does? Feed it to the mouse! Got an old bag of weed? Feed it to the mouse? Got some random pill you don't know what is that you found on the floor and or ghetto? Feed it to the mouse!!!!!!

Or you could just wimp out and buy a pet mouse for such a small amount of money that you could find gum that costs more.
