  1. that is not a good idea. burton boards are not very good and they are overpriced. the only reason white rides for them is bc they pay him the most. get a skate banana or a ride society.

  2. although i agree that burton is overpriced i think that for the most-part they are good quality.  i think that you would be the only one that could decide wether or not its a good board for you or not.  try reading up on its features like what type of core or base it has and see it it sounds like that will suit your needs.  also you would be surprised by the amount of boards from different brands come out of the same factory then get there graphics put on them so try looking for a cheaper board with the same features you might luck out.  all of that said if its a good price yes i think it is a good board for a intermediate rider. have fun ripping the slopes for me i have a bum knee:(

  3. I cannot stress this enough Burton is overrated, the best brands are Lib- tech and Rome.  Check those out, they have tons of boards

  4. Academy is good for park but i don't know about freeride.

  5. If you can get it for a good price go for it!

Especially now during summer, you can probably find one pretty cheap. I just got a new board from the White collection.

As far as size, I'd say get the 159cm. You're going to freeride, so the extra length shouldn't be too bad, and if you're going to buy a Burton, you want to make it last :]
