Question:

Hi, i have a garage door opener but it's almost impossible to open it with the remote what can i do?

The problem is that i have a metal door, an i think thats the reason of the weak signal, can i improve the reception by installing an antenna? if it's possible wich kind of antenna or any other suggestion.

  1. what do you mean by metal door?  aluminum?  steel?  most garage doors are some kind of metal for durability.  

    it is possible that your openers antenna is bent/disconnected/ broken.  on the back of the unit there should be a s***w where a wire should dangle.  that is your antenna.  if it is indeed intact, you can extend the wire to the outside of your garage if needed

    All openers have an antenna wire - about a foot long that should be hanging free from the main unit.

    Sometimes people clip these off, thinking it is just a stray wire.  If you see no antenna wire - that is your problem.

    They are almost always soldered to the main receiver board, (as opposed to being mounted by a s***w terminal like the other connections) so fixing it will require some electronics skill.  If you are lucky, there will still be a bit of the wire left to show where it is supposed to be connected.
