Hi, i have an '06 cobalt. i'd like to have a direct line into the stereo for my ipod. any help?

i thought about installing an '07 radio which has the input jack, but i don't know/think it will work with my steering wheel controls.

You can have a technician change the wiring so that your steering column and the stereo will interface.

You can also buy a wireless receiver for your ipod. I have an car that doesn't have an ipod jack and it works great.

KEEP the factory GM radio  

this ipod interface will plug into the back of it, using the xm port

i have a panasonic radio and it has all the inputs and works great with my direct line to my ipod. Hope that helps.

Ok so if you have the pioneer system or standard system:

Then you need a cables called the XIA-D01 & a harness called the XIAH-GM2. These are needed to make your Ipod work with your car. They will charge your Ipod and transfer the music through the speakers. This is the best tway to play your Ipod in your car. These are vehcile specific and they work for your car only. They are made through Axxess Interfaces but are carried at Circuit City Stores.The parts are about 70 bucks and they are the only thinks that can get you the best possible quality sound without changing your radio to an aftermarket one. Oh and the part you need to make your Steering Wheel Controls work with a different radio is the Axxess ASWI-X. If you get a aaftermarket one then let me know the brand b/c they differ Brand to Brand DUECES!!!!!

you're best bet is to go to best buy or circut city and get an new deck  (radio/cd player) for you're car.  it sounds better too....

you can buy one that is ipod compatible and you can get a usb hub for the ipod there OR one that plugs in the top of the ipod.

if you go to the car audio section, tell them what you want and they could help you out
