Hi, i want to know how acurrate is the elisa test after 55 days.?

i just turn ok, 55 days after a risk situation on an elisa test.

What are my chances.

  1. Very. The widow period for HIV is 90 days. HIV usually shows up 90% of the time after 30 days, 94-96% after 60 days ( basically you are there) and 99.6% after 90 days- some people take a little longer. So if you need that extra peace of mind retest in 5 or 6 more week, but you should be fine.

    If you were seroconverting you would have had a test that would be questionable and require a western blot.


  2. Your test after 55 days is very encouraging. Almost all infected people generate antibody by this time. It is very unlikely that your negative result becomes positive. But you will have to confirm this negative result by a 3 months conclusive test. Relax. Odds are on your favour.
