  1. Office jobs are difficult but you should have no trouble getting domestic jobs or teaching English jobs if you are a mother language English speaker.

  2. You obviously are not a EU citizen...

It's tough for foreign nationals to get a job in Italy. It's not easy at all to just show up on a tourist visa and find a place of employ.

If you are a qualified teacher of the English language then you would be in demand for there are many an English school in Italy. If this is your case then it would be easy enough for you to find these places (and contact them) via Google.

By domestic job do mean... a house cleaner, butler? If you weren't hired from your mother country to work in Italy then this too is difficult because most of these jobs are already held (and in may cases illegally) by citizens from the former Eastern block countries.

Office jobs - it's tough enough for an Italian to get one of these. You'd need to have a "permesso di soggiorno" or permit to stay or a "permesso di lavoro" or a permit to work.... The best way to get the permit is to be hired from your mother country by an Italian or Italian based foreign company.

Basically it isn't easy to just show up and get yourself a job. If you are in one of the dense touristy areas you may be able to get a job in a bar or something like that.

Remember - 1. if you work illegally in Italy and get caught you not be able to ever come back again and 2. If you are working illegally the person or people you work for will take advantage of you.

I wish you the best in this endeavor. Your best bet is to start your job search from you side. Keep in mind that there are internships with various organizations and institutions in Italy. Try contacting your local international organizations to see if they have Italian contacts. Your local Rotary Club may have an internship in Italy for you. Contact your local Dante Alighieri club... you find the right contact there.
