A group of us girls (ages 19-21) are going to Italy in a few weeks and will be staying for 2. This is everybody's first time in Italy and we want to experience as much of it as we can (do not worry though, we are not going to act wild or anything like that). I was just wondering if it is easy to meet people there (and I'm not talking just about Italian men, lol)? We want to experience as much Italian culture as possible. Thanks for your advice!

  1. I'm Italian! Isn't easy?

  2. Yes the Italian people are so good. They will love to explain everything to you, just ask and they gonna tell you more and more also if they don't know you'll see they gonna find for you.

Good luck. Don't forget to visit Naples that's beautiful.

  3. I'm sure you'll have fun here...Italy is waiting for you....

  4. You will have no problem meeting young men in Italy.  Italian men love to flirt with all the tourists.  Have fun

  5. You are going to be swarmed by men, you know that, don't you?  Walking down any street, you're going to be hooted and propositioned and harrassed, so be aware of that.  You must not respond AT ALL, because anything you say will be interpreted as you're interested.  You'll probably get groped and your butts pinched too, particularly if you're in a crowd.  Be very careful of your purses and wallets - pickpockets are all over in the large cities.  Carry very little cash (just use ATMs which are all over) and bring photocopies of your passports and credit cards, front and back, so if they're stolen, you call to report them.  Be very careful in bars at night not to get too drunk so that you can't think straight, and certainly do not go off alone with anyone.

Now that I've thoroughly scared you, I want to assure you that any hassles are so worth it to see Italy, one of the most beautiful and exciting countries in the world.  Italians, other than the leacherous men, are warm and inviting and very hospitable.  If you take the trouble to learn some simple Italian phrases and how to count, you'll be amazed at the reaction!  If you show an interest and knowledge of the history and culture of Italy, you will be welcomed with open arms!  This is one of the best countries in the world where tourists can "meet people."  Just swat away the annoying ones and find your adventure!  You will be absolutely blown away by Italy!

  6. yes. it's pretty easy, even buzzin' around the streets and the more you go to the south the more the people is open...but watch out what your lookin' for because most of the time men are pretty insistents and hard trier to become boring...and try to not believe all the bull...t they say...

  7. Hi,

Their'e right about the men... :-)

But you will have all the opportunities you want to get to know the usual italian people as well.

Just prepare your trip in advance and you'll get rewarded in the way that you can concentrate on the activities you've chosen.

Try to learn some daily phrases and use them, they love it and you're in a dialogue at once!

(And just use your common sense and you don't have to worrie about anything :-)   )

  8. Just go to any bar or coffee shop, the Italian men will come to you , flirting!

Taste the delicious wines, pasta, salads, sweets and walk a lot...

Try to learn some Italian words!

It's very easy to get along with them, don't get scared if they look like yielding...they speak loud.

Every Italian will give you a card offering heaven, wake up, we just want get laid.

    You are WELCOME!

  9. that's true, Italian men are all helpless FLIRTS!! I don't consider myself an outstanding beauty, and I'm Latin, so I'm not that different from many women there; but even so, they called me from the cars in the middle of the traffic, sent me many kisses from across the street, said hello and etc. so many times... I just laughed a lot, because they have the funniest way to approach to you! But I didn't feel harassed... I actually liked to hear "Ciao, Bella" or "Bella , brava ragazza", "Bacio per te",  because I had spent almost one month in Spain before going to Italy and men are the opposite there (in Spain) . Or at least they didn't seem to like Latin women.

Italian men are romantic to me, so prepare to hear compliments everywhere! what's wrong with that?

  10. Are you kidding-it is hard not to meet people in Italy!

It is very different from the states. People connect all over the place in Italy.
