Question:

Hi, me and my family are to Brisbane this year. Where are good suburbs and schools? My kids are 4,5,6 yrs old.

We dont want to live where it is too expensive but family orientated, any help would be appreciated!

  2. Do you have any idea where you will be working? Do you have a house buying or rental budget? If you are a couple, will both have a car?

    Without knowing the answers to those questions, these suggestions may be off the mark, but to the west, Collingwood Park is a fairly nice suburb, isn't too expensive and it's new, so there are a lot of young families there.  Springfield would also fit the bill for much the same reasons as CP.

    Many of the surrounding suburbs like Goodna, Gailes and Redbank are not nearly as nice and should be avoided.

    On the other side of town to the north, North Lakes/Mango Hill seems to be a nice family area and shouldn't be too expensive.

    Houses in the above suburbs will work out around 380k to 420k or so with some cheaper offerings available. If you have more to spend, you should be able to find something a bit closer in.
