Hi, my MP4 player seems to have crashed, what have I done and what should I do?

Sorry, very computer illiterate and find new tech very difficult so please bear this in mind when you give your most vauable answers, I'm 63. Workmate shown me how to 'rip and sync' which I have done sucessfully, however, last night I went to use the player and it wouldn't work, when I turned it on again the message 'no files' came on the screen, er- wot av I dun? Please help

  1. There is usually a reset button you need to stick a pin in and hold it down for a few seconds.

    It should re-boot and be ok.

    I have to do this on my Zen every now and then.

    That being said my girlfriend had a cheap Play.com own brand MP3 player and when it crashed the only way to reset it was to re-install the firmware.

    All Mp3/MP4 players are different so without seeing it or knowing the model it is hard to advise.

    If you are not very good with computers I suggest asking your workmate to have a look and show you how to resolve it.


  2. plug it back into your computer and get your grandkid to fix it and stop trying complex functions
