  1. I would not recommend driving. Technically the international license is just a permit. It is not exactly a license. As for not have the original document and only having a copy of your license. A cop may think it is fake and you technically do not have your license with you so you would be driving around without a license which you can get ticket for/surcharge and etc...

But it is a risk you can take as long as you do not get caught and obey the speed limits ..etc..

  2. everybody in this country drives..not all have a D/L but that's not your case.if you have the original international D/L  then i feel sure if a cop pulls you over he will at least let you go with a warning..but texas is a mean state they get revenue from those tickets but i honestly think they'll let ya ride.all else fells go down to the local cop shop and just ask them..have a great day.hope that helps some

  3. I am 98% sure that you can drive with your International Driving Permit from Austin to San Antonio. If an officer stops you, and says it is not valid (2% chance), say you did not quite understand how you could use your permit. It is most probably valid, but make sure you do not get stopped by a cop for a traffic violation because I'm sure with only an IDP, a traffic violation could get you in hot water.
