Go to this page:

In the "Find a Yahoo! Group" section enter the subject you want to be a member of and hit search. After you find your group, here is how you can join it:

To be part of Yahoo Groups click on "Join Yahoo Groups" at: http://groups.yahoo.com

After that it will take you thru the steps to choosing a user ID and password for Yahoo Groups.  If you already have an e-mail account thru Yahoo just sign in under the section of Yahoo Groups where it says, "Sign In".

When you get to the group homepage do a search on your interests or career field and hit enter.  It will then bring up a list of different groups for you to look thru to see which ones you want to join.

After you pick one click on "Join this Group".  If the group you choose to join is set up so that the owner and his/her staff has to approve new members please be patient because it can take a day or two depending on how busy the group is to get new members approved.

After you are approved your messages may be approved for a time depending on how the message feature is set up.  The owner and his/her moderating staff does this to protect the group against spammers.  After so many posts (depending on the rules of the group) when they see how it goes they will take you off of moderated status and you can post freely to the group.
