  1. I started having BH at 19 weeks with my last pregnancy. I thought it was too early but the doc didnt seem to see a problem with it.

By 25 weeks it was full on contractions and by 28 I was getting shots to stop labor. At 29 the shots stopped helping and I delivered via emergency C-section cause he was transverse( lying sidways in a cradle position)

Talk to you doc and if he doesnt ease your mind talk to another. Dont let him brush you off.

    Good luck.

  2. If they become regular (like every 10 minutes )it is real labor, as long as they stay irregular there is nothing to worry about it.

but you need to talk about them at your doctor next time you see her.

I have had some lately and i have notice that they became stronger when i was nervous our working harder than i should they  also say that it might be cause you are deshydrated.

those contractions feel like the real one but very less intense. back pain and thinghtening with cramp low in the belly, that how they felt for me, may be different for someone else

  3. Sounds like you should call your doc.

  4. I had that. I went to L&D because they were starting to get a little painful - I had noticed them at 18 weeks. I was kept overnight at L&D because I was having some other low level contractions - I was diagnosed with an irritable uterus - which is contractions that are very minor and cause no change in the cervix - it is possibly from a UTI that is asymptomatic. I've noticed them even more after going to L&D and they can be somewhat painful (I think I am noticing them because I know what to feel for after watching them on the fetal monitor) so I called my doc again today - he examined my cervix and says it is a "mile long" so there are no problems and the contractions are not changing my cervix. He said they seem like Braxton hicks - I am 22 weeks and he says it is not too early to get them and many women do get them this early or earlier and do not notice. For me, they feel like a tightening and can sometimes have some minor menstrual-like cramping with them.

That being said I really would call your doctor it's given me peace of mind. I thought I was starting to go into pre-term labor because small contractions can be the start.

  5. i started getting braxton hicks at about 19 weeks.  maybe a couple a week, but nothing consistant or painful--my doc said it was ok as long as it didnt become regular or painful. but i would definately let you doc know.

  6. Yup they could definitly be BH.  I'm going to attach a link for you, read up on the differences between BH and actual contractions, so you know what to look for.

Bring it up to your OB though, just to ease any concerns you may have and to let your doctor know what your experiencing at this stage of your pregnancy.  When it comes to doctors, theres really no such thing as TMI.
