Hi,new to hunting what gun should i get?

Question

ok,im 16, i live in california and i would really love to start hunting.my dad supports me in this he would come with me to of course.thing is we dont know much about hunting,guns,etc.

so what would be a good beginner gun to use for hunting that doesnt have much recoil,inexpensive ammunition,and can get me to learn the basics.

would we have to take safety classes, and where can we get a hunting permit,and where are legal firing ranges and hunting sites in southern california?
