i have been told franie norton is the only boxing horse racing jockey , but im sure there was one about 15 years ago called steve ? (i dont know his surname), he was known as the boxing jockey? can anyone help ? thanks........

Cauthen, Steve (1960-...), an American jockey, became one of the greatest riders in horse racing history. In 1978, he won the United States Triple Crown (the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes). Riding Affirmed, Cauthen was the youngest jockey to win the Triple Crown. Cauthen became the first jockey to win both the Kentucky Derby and Epsom, or English, Derby.

With all due respect to the answer Steve cauthen,i don't think the great rider was a boxer,more like a flower arranger.

  The Steve i think you are looking for is a jockey called Steven Williams.I saw him fight for the British Bantamweight title and lose on a stoppage caused by a bad cut in about the 8th round when he was doing real well and at least holding his own.He was trained by his father and he had a brilliant amateur career.

  I saw Steve fight many times but he is best remembered for being a good jockey and a quiet man.

  Steve rode for me many times and struck up a good partnership with a horse i had called Petraco,he won on him at Warwick,Wolverhampton and Pontefract and was placed many times under Steve's guidance.
