  1. If with "desktop.ini" you have the file "folder.htt" then you have a virus

    just search for "desktop.ini" and "folder.htt" and delete them.

    If you just have "desktop.ini" file, then it is Object Desktop from microsoft, which keeps information about the object for the folder (i.e, color, icons, style, etc)

    if you want to delete them go ahead, but as soon you work on a folder this file will be created again.


  2. Did you turn on 'View Hidden Files' ?

    If so, just turn it off again ..

    (I always wondered why MS chose not to show hidden files 'by default' ...)

  3. I think you have virus. Install AVG anti virus to clean it.
