Is there a real government site that I can search marriage and death records for free? I am trying to find information on my Great-Grandfather, my Great-Grandmother,and Grandmother. They were born in Louisiana. My Great Grandfather, Pullum, was Creole. My Great-Grandmother, Jane, was Indian. Unfortunately, according to my aunt, during that time everybody who was not Caucasian was categorized as "colored." So finding records on Indian tribes and Creoles from 1885 - 1940 (Louisiana/Arkansas) has been almost impossible. So, I tried doing a google (sorry) search. I just get these sites that claim if you pay them $29.95 or more they can get the information for me. I do not have access to Bible Records or the typical places for information. (I''m trying to find the Olivers in Louisiana and complete my Genealogy Project)
You All are 100% in answering my questions. I hope you can help me with this one. So, If you know the real government sites that can give real information then please let me know.
Thanks again,
