Hi! I'm french student and I need your help for an homework.

I've a few questions on the royal family. Is it true that they are partially paid by english people? If yes , who exactly in the Royal Familly ? Only the Queen, or also her children and grand-children? And finally, who decides how much they get?

Thank you very much for helping me, and please excuse my mistakes! :)

  1. The Prince of Wales gets income from the Duchy of Cornwall (only part of which is in the county of Cornwall). The sovereign gives her income from the Duchy of Lancaster to the government, which in turn gives her money called the Civil List. She shares this money with the rest of the family (her younger children and some cousins). The total amount is agreed by the Queen and her govt, and she decides how much to give each member of the family.

Look at www.royal.gov.uk under FAQ and it may have some information.

  2. british royality is more democratic than imperial american democracy.

The tax payers not only support direct descendants but laterals and collaterals and also children born from in and out of wed locks.

  3. I think the royal family cost me about 10p a year. They also pay tax
