I found the site before but never bookmarked it. I think it was on this site http://www.nhtsa.gov but I can't seem to re-find the safety chart I am looking for. If anyone can find it or knows of another site that has the same type of information, I would greatly appreciate it.....thanks

  1. There is no site that rates the safety of car seat - and never has been. That is b/c car seats are not rated in the US, they are only given a pass/fail, not a grade. So, we can only say that if the seat is on the market, it passed the tests and therefore all seats in the US are equally safe. IF: they fit your child, fit your car, and are used correctly 100% of the time. Which narrows the list considerably. How hard a seat is to use really affects whether it is used correctly or not.

Here's the NHTSA ease of use ratings: NHTSA EASE OF USE RATINGS:

However, take them with a grain of salt, they don't consult car seat experts in this and sometimes their ratings just don't match up with real life.

  2. actually you most likely won't find it any more. they have changed the rating system. they now rate on how easy they are to use instead of how safe they are. i found this out the last time i went looking for the chart

It's the American Academy of Pediatrics.
