Hi Guys, . Can you guys tell me how to get to Tofino from Vancouver?

I am coming to Vancouver in a few days and I will head to Tofino. What is the cheapest transportation possible from Van. to Tofino. I have never been there in BC so please think that I am in Vancouver Bus Terminal. Then what?

The only way to get there same day by bus is taking the Greyhound. It will leave the Vancouver Bus Depot (Pacific Central) in the early mornings. It will take you onto the ferry and across from Horseshoe Bay to Duke Point in Nanaimo.

If you want to see Victoria you can take the Pacific Coach Lines bus from Pacific Central to the downtown Victoria Bus Depot and then the Greyhound from there. The bus also leaves there early in the morning to Tofino so if you do it that way you need to go over to Victoria the day before as the bus leaves too early to do it all in one day.

That is the cheapest way besides hitching which I wouldn't recommend.

Bus and ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo.  Nanaimo to Tofino by bus.  (You might be able to buy a ticket from the Vancouver Depot through to Tofino, I'm not sure.  You definitely can buy a ticket to Nanaimo and then buy another one from Nanaimo to Tofino.

You will have to take the BC Ferries to Nanaimo located on Vancouver Island.  Then you try and find a bus or drive to Highway 19- the Inland Island Highway.  Drive to the Port Alberni exit (North of Nanaimo)  Drive to Port Alberni and then as you are approaching the city follow the sign which bear off to the right and head towards Tofino.  You have to cross over a mountain range and it has been snowing up there lately so be prepared for delays.

I guess the bus out of Nanaimo is the cheapest transportation so I would suggest you go online and check their schedule.  Try Grayhound Canada.
