anyone knows of any great places to reside during my stay there? Preferrably right in the middle of all the activities.

There are lots of hotels around the TIFF--you can google Toronto hotels, and look for those located near Bloor and Bay (the hub of the festival). The Hyatt is very close by (on Bloor, near Avenue Road), and a lot of stars stay there--see if you can book a room now, and you're likely to see lots of glitz and glamour.
