  2. I've been to Oxford too, with my friend! Here's his blog and it might help you out: http://tourandseetheworld.blogspot.com/s...

Oxford has two main roads here that everyone should know about when visiting Oxford, namely: High Street and Broad Street.

Those two streets had most of the buildings and attractions that people want to visit, for instance the famous Covered Market, the Town Hall, and the various colleges that make up Oxford University.

You might want to visit Carfax Tower, because the view of the Oxford from the top was rather good.

Also, St Mary offers a view of the area and is reportedly taller than Carfax Tower.

Not forgetting the very "touristy" dining hall at Christ Church, where you already know that many people visit day in and day out to see the Harry Potter site here: it is a beautiful college surrounded by a gigantic park.

    Cheers and all the best!

  3. I took a week-long summer school at Oxford University last summer. Even though we were in class most of the time and didn't have too much time to look around, I did get to see a few sites. The places I went to were the University Church of St Mary the Virgin which was the site of the trial of the Oxford Martyrs in 1555. You can walk up to the top and look out over Oxford. It's beautiful.  (If you get a chance, you can see the actual spot where they burned Latimer, Ridley & Cranmer which is just outside of Balliol College) Also, across from the church is the Radcliffe Camera which is a library.

Visit the Eagle & Child pub (on St Giles) which is where the Inklings used to meet all the time (CS Lewis & JRR Tolkien & friends). You can also go visit the Kilns which is the house CS Lewis lived in.

For sure you have to go see Christ Church Meadow which I believe is just off St Aldate's. They are very picky about allowing you in to see the actual Christ Church college but you could always ask.

There are some great places to go shopping on High Street. That's pretty much the area I was in since I stayed at Oriel College.

Oxford is beautiful & amazing! You will love it! Bring an umbrella. :)
