Hi!! I am moving to sydney in July. I found a house in Jamison st. How can I check the house?

Is the area safe... How can I trust someone without seeing the place.. Any suggestions..

Go to google earth - type in the address and bingo, depending on the suburb it will give you a pretty good look.

You are moving into a house in an area you know nothing about Lol , nice . There should be a website with crime statistics for the local area / neighborhood . Being in Australia I dont think it can be that bad .

You are moving in July , so that gives you time to actually stop by the place and area .

Use the street address, suburb and city  to search google maps (theres a link at the top of the google home page).  When google shows the local map, click on option to see a satellite view.  You can zoom close enough to see the house  where you are moving too.  That should tell you how run down an area is.   Take note of how well the trees are kept and any landscaping of the yards.  If people take care of their yards they will take care of their neighbourhood too.

Check the crime statistics for the suburb you are moving to (link provided).   Sydney is the largest city in Australia and does have large city problems.  The kinds of crime dominant in your chosen suburb will give you an idea of how careful you will need to be while living there.

Also check out www.realeastate.com.au and look for houses in the suburb you are moving to.  That should give you close up idea of of how nice your neighbourhood will be.

What suburb?  If it is Jamison St in the CBD it will not be a house - it is an apartment.  That part of the CBD is quiet & safe.

If it's possible for you better wait to see the place, there are several beautiful places to live in Sidney, also you may want to look at www.realestate.com.au
