  1. There are actually quite a few careers that enable you to make a living with only an AA degree (or even a Diploma/1-year certificate). Graphic design, hairdressing and creative writing are just three out of hundreds of options. But you need to find a unique approach if you want to take on the world of graphic design, as it's a competitive industry. They are looking for highly creative and driven people, but you could always start your own independent company. I know most people are taking that route. It may be a small pay in the first place, but you'll build yourself up as you go along. All the best! This is coming from someone who's also pursuing an AA degree (got mine in Screenwriting for Film & TV and am starting a 2nd/last one in Advertising).

  2. There are many careers out there which pay well and only require two-years (Associates degree) of education such as:

    - Computer Support Technician

    - Engineering Technician

    - Paralegal

    - Business Administration

    - Communications

    - Law Enforcement

    - Education and Child Care

    - Health Care/nursing

However you should be aware that with only an Associates Degree you are really limiting yourself to entry-level type jobs and you are more than likely going to be turned down over a more qualified and educated applicant.

If you want my advise then take the additional two-years and study for a Bachelor's Degree, it will open up so many more doors than an Associates Degree will.

  3. If you want a job like that you need to get a bachelor's degree. You can get one in any field and still get a good job. Choose a major that you will enjoy. With just an AA there is not much chance in getting a better job.
