  1. I have used white vinegar and borax to remove tanning lotion stains. Make a paste out of the two and apply it to the stains. Lightly dab the paste into the fabric. Let it sit for a few minutes. Wash as usual.

    If the stain is a greasy one, add a liquid dish soap such as Dawn to the paste and follow the rest of the above directions.
