Does anyone know if you get discounted childcare if you work in a nursery, see I would really like to start training to eventually become a montessori teacher. But unfortunately the salaries dont pay well enough to put both of my children (5months&18months) into childcare, all advice and alternative soltions are welcome! Thanks

  1. yes if u work in a nursery your sure to get reduced fees for your own children

  2. I dont think so unless the children go to your nursery and your boss is nice enough to let them in free!

I think some NHS and Social Care Services placements MIGHT offer vouchers or provide support but dont quote me on that.

Unforunately funded preschool places dont start till term after 3rd birthday.

Sorry I cant be more help.

  3. It really does vary from school to school but most Montessori schools are really good to their employees.  The discount could be anywhere for 20% to 100%.

The school I teach at only offers a 20% discount which I think is an unusually low percentage, but our tution prices are only slightly higher than that of the local daycare centers.

If you are looking for a great teacher training program I reccomend Center for Montessori Teacher Education, New York (CMTE/NY).  They have some of the best teachers in the world, especially in the infant/toddler program.  The Early Childhood progam is really good there too.

The world needs more Montessori teachers.

  4. I have been teaching preschool for 11 years.  The last 5 years I have had 1-2 children of my own. I have never paid for either one of them.

A lot of centers in my area offer discounts.  I don't take the discounts.  At this point I have the credentials and experience to make sure I don't pay for them.

Just talk it out before you start and keep searching I am sure that you will find some where to work with you.

  5. I know people that work in Nursery`s that their children go too & im pretty sure there children are there for free or at a discount.

Just ask around when your asking for jobs -as it will be differnt at every nursery you go to.

    hope that hepls x
