Hi I want to format My Pc ............?

Hi i Bought a pc and its vista home basic and i want to format it but the vista is already installed and i have no disc so how do i do it please help thank you

boot from the cd/dvd of your chosen operating system

IMPORTANT

You have to create recovery CDs for pre-loaded windows yourself. This CD will re-install windows as new just incase your computer crashes.

Download the ISO file and mount it to a CD or DVD using Infra-recorder, click actions > burn image > browse for the ISO file.

You can also use a file called 'sysprep' to restore windows, search for it, but you must create your own recovery CDs its important.

Without an XP CD, you cannot replace Vista with XP. :(

You MUST obtain an XP CD and boot from CD. Choose Install, and from there you can format the drive, and install XP fresh.

I do not recommend getting one off ebay or a bittorrent because you'll have to Validate your copy of Windows to avoid expiration in 30 days.

you can back up your hard drive using drive image then format the drive then reinstall your backup then f you want erase your free space using eraser from sourceforge

DON'T DOWNGRADE VISTA TO XP UNLESS YOU GET THE DRIVERS FIRST!



HOME BASIC - by the way is identical to xp, you wont have the performace issues at all as there is no aero, so i can't possibly imagine why you want to downgrade, i suggest you do some reasearch first,
