  1. it is fine for horses as my horses eat it all the time and the vets have said that it is not poisonous.

  2. I don't know what a peppercorn tree is...except for what I found on google...

I do know that vegetables/fruits from the 'nightshade family' are unsafe for horses.  This includes potatoes, tomatoes, rhubarb, eggplant, and peppers.  A few others I can't think of right off the top of my head.

  3. I presume you are talking about Brazilian Pepper Trees??  They produce a red pepper fruit in cooler weather.  YES, they are very poisonous to horses and all equine.  And they are a plague as they rapidly proliferate.  Also, they are hard to kill when they are in your pasture area because you have to be so careful as to what you use as most plant/weed killers are completely unsafe to use around grazing animals.  Call your local Southern Ag if you have one or your state agriculture to get some help.  good luck.  these things are terrible.  Horses will usually only eat when the fruit is on the tree but they will stand and eat until it is gone or they die.  Very dangerous.

  4. Hi

Well, I googled it as much as I could and found nothing so I suppose it should be on the safe side.

Im surprised any horse or donkey would eat it though considering it would be a little spicy.

Have heard though that too many peppercorns can irritate the urinary tract but he/she would have to eat a load of them.
