Hi, Info on PS3 to play PS2 games

Hey some months ago i got a PS3 but it dont play PS2 games (I'm in the U.K.) and i saw some where online there's a PS3 driver that u put in to the PS3 so it can play PS2 games is this true and if so what's it called.
