  2. The mother in Mexico needs to  take the baby to a pediatrician and ask about the DNA test.  I have no idea of the cost, but it will certainly be less than in the states or Canada.  The father needs to go to his doc in Canada and ask to be tested. The test will be at least several hundred dollars. Then they will have to pay one of the labs to compare the tests.  If he is the father, it will make absolutely no difference in getting a work visa.  The ONLY way to get a work visa for Mexico ( and most other countries too) is to find an employer who will hire him and write a letter to immigration stating that he is offering this man a job, and that he cannot find a Mexican national to do that job.  Then getting the permit takes money, time and patience.  Even professional jobs pay very little in Mexico.  Teachers  and nurses make about $100.00 a week.  Very few Americans or Canadians can actually make a living in Mexico.  Might be more practical to try to bring mother and child to Canada.
