  1. Hey Jeff.

    It's a 1923 Model T,,,abducted by Aliens,and had Serial Number Restamped to make it SEEM like a Late '68 A7SS. ;)

    .........................................

    Kaw doesn't  publish  info for '67~68 or '69

    '67~'68 are Same

    '69 is Unique among all A7's

    Your frame number is Too High to be any '67

    And Definitely Not a '70,,,,which Does have a published Beginning Number.

    #18653

    Annual Production Volume back in those days was fairly consistent.

    So if we Count Backwards from the KNOWN 1970's 1st serial number,,,

    then we get an idea  of how many were made TOTAL in 67 thru 69.

    If we arbitrarily average it out,,,it's about 6,200 bikes per year.

    So we'd Start the year at # 01 & end at #6200.

    Then Add the next 6200  for 2nd Year,,,and so on

    Here's what  that "Guestimate" would look like:

    Serial Number Range

    '67= 00001  to 06200

    '68= 06201  to 12400

    '69= 12401  to 18600

    You can now have an IDEA of where your #11189 ranks in that group.

    Remember,,that's Just a GUESS

    It's Got to be Very Late '68,

    Or

    Very Early '69

    There's no Mistaking the 2,,,68 & 69 are very different looking.

    However,,,It's fairly easy to fit parts from a different year and make bike LOOK like a different Year.

    ALL '67~68's had breaker point ignition.

    '69's were 'sposed to all have Electronic CDI.

    But a FEW early 69's in USA had  points.

    ..............................

    The EngineNumber you posted has Gotta be wrong,,,,misread,,typo,something.

    It's WAY out of range by an extreme amount

    By the way,,,,Engine Numbers and Frame Numbers Dont necessarily Match.

    ....................................

    Here's a 67~68

    Note:

    Tank,,Instruments mounted in Headlite...seat w/white piping & no chrome,,,no cable loop on front fender brace

    .........................................

    Here's a '69

    (also some links you may be interested in)

    I'm fairly sure it's gonna be a '68

    Hope that helps

  2. not sure , but putting all of this information about your bike out there is a really stupid thing to do. now all a thief has to do is get false papers with your info on it and take your bike . why do people not replace the last 2 or 3 numbers with x*x . you don't need the full number to find out info. I know on Yamahas the first 2 numbers are the year  and on some it's the last 2. 1989? 1993?the numbers don't match so it is not the original engine.
