Hi Note to sweep the Masterson Holdings Hurdle
Rolling up their sleeves for the Class 2 Masterson Holdings Hurdle are five contestants who are four-year-old. They will race over two miles and 110 yards on Saturday, 20th October at Cheltenham with their gaze and intention glued at the £18,768 prize money. All the participants are well seasoned in the 2012 campaign, but not all of them have taken their chances at Cheltenham race course before.
One with the most stable season yet, is the four-year-old bay filly, Hi Note. Out of the five outings, she has been successful in three, and the worst that she has experienced is the fifth position.
Acclamation’s bay filly had her seasonal debut in the Breathe Spa At Marriott Lingfield Handicap Hurdle on 5th January, 2012 at Lingfield over two miles and half a furlong.
The race was won by the favourite entry, Grafite, who landed the race in partnership with jockey, Brendan Powell.
The Sheena West trained posted her first success of the season in the Excelebrate Resources Handicap on 27th August, 2012 at Warwick race course over a mile and seven furlongs.
The good to firm ground conditions saw her picking up the required pace when the final furlong remained to be raced over, after easing out just a bit she pulled back and won the race from, Musically, by the margin of 2 ¼ lengths.
The bay filly out of, Top Tune, then struck a back-to-back by winning the Timberland Handicap on 1st September, 2012 at Bath race course over two mile and a furlong.
In the hands of the capable jockey, Martin Leonard, Hi Note cornered Gordon Flash, as the runner-up.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Party Palace.
A second score in the next outing had the bay filly going all out in the Justin Smith 50th Sponsored By Firebrand Handicap Hurdle on 28tth September, 2012 at Stratford race course over two miles and three furlongs.
She posted in a remarkable success by twenty-five lengths with the rider, Marc Goldstein.
The 7 to 2 entry for the race has drawn the fifth trap, and will race in the company of the same jockey.
