  1. My girls (ages 5,10, and 12) and I do "spa" day at home. We do finger nails, toenails, and light makeup. They also enjoy doing my and each others hair. Card games and hide-and-seek are also fun. Nap time is good, too.

  2. When I watch my BF's 5 year old, she like to play candyland, this littlest petshop board game I got her, or got her like a 4 piece makeupset thing and she liked getting her nails painted and putting on lip gloss especially the glittery ones. She also likes activity books as well things that you can sit down with her and do and it challenges her a little. Having her help you with anything and everything you can that you need to do...making luch or whatever, they love theat, makes them feel good. Playing dolls is another thing you can do with them, also kitchen, sit down and color. Crafts are always a winner, get some paper, glue, noodles, markers, maybe paint, and glitter. and let them at (supervise so there isn't a monsterous mess). Watch a movie together. My Bf and I have been teaching his daughter how to play war...may not be able to finish the game, but its fun as long as their atttention stays. Just be creative. You will be fine. Good Luck...Most important, relax and have fun.

  3. Kids that age LOVE crafts, especially girls.

Bring construction paper, glue, glitter, crayons, kid scissors and more.

    Here's some simple favorites:

Have them trace their hands on paper; glue, glitter & draw on their hand tracing.  Cut it out, glue it on top of a popsicle stick.  Glue green leaves further down the stick.  You have a flower!

Get a gridle at Goodwill.  Heat it on low, stick the construction paper on top & have them color.  The heat will melt the crayons onto the paper making a color art work.

Kids that age also love cooking!  Try easy cookies (even the ones you buy in a bag so all you add is eggs, water & oil) and get sprinkles for them.

  4. Bring some story books suited for girls their age. Reading it to them in an animated way usually keeps them glued to you for the entirety of the story. You could also bring some kids make-up that is non-allergenic and could be easily removed with water. Of course, you need to ask for their parents permission first before trying it on them.

  5. Books are a good idea. Any kind of board game. 4 and 5 year olds are generally still interested in dolls a bit. Coloring is cheap and entertaining for hours.
