Hi! What happened to the EARLY CELLPHONE COMPANIES in INDIA ? Eg: ESSAR, MAXTOUCH, JTM, ESCOTEL, HEXACOM etc?

There were so many Cellphone companies way back in 1995-1996, however today we have just the big names... AIRTEL, VODAFONE, RELIANCE, IDEA and BSNL/MTNL as well as some smaller companies like SPICE, BPL and AIRCEL.

What happened to these companies.... I mean, no doubt they got merged but into which co... and when:

Delhi - Sterling Celluar (ESSAR)

Mumbai - Hutchison Max (MAXTOUCH)

Chennai - SkyCell

Andhra Pradesh - JTM (Jasmine Telecom)l

Gujarat - Fascel

Haryana - Escotel

North East - Hexacom

Punjab - JTM / Evergrowth

Kerala - Escotel

Rajasthan - Hexacom

Uttar Pradesh (W) - Escotel
