  1. My advice?  BE CAREFUL or have a Moroccan drive for you.  Driving is different in Morocco in many ways, mostly being that people don't always follow traffic rules well and the roads between cities are often not highways but simple 2 lane roads, as mentioned in another answer.  I was a passenger in a car that went to the north of Morocco and it was an interesting ride to say the least.  I have driven in the US for several years and I cringe at the thought of having to drive when I return to Morocco to live.

  2. if you never drove in Morocco then don't. I would never! I am moroccan, i drive here in the usa but can never drive there. people drive like...i really don't know the word!!! especially cab drivers. the road from marrakech to essaouira and to agadir is not a highway, it is like a two lane roads and there is a lot of accidents there because people try to pass each other especially buses and they crash into the incoming vehicle. Even if you drive safely, those buses and some cars don't! I 'm sorry i'm scaring you but that is the truth, espcially if you never drove there.
