Hi all, my lcd has black spots after it cracked. BUt the spots go with time but often comes back.?

i wanted to know what are these black spot or blackout pixels made of and how could we quicken the process of black spot vanishing. once i put my laptop screen in sun and really recovered fast..any ideas?

  1. There is no way to fix it... The reason they sometimes start working is the electrical traces sometimes make contact and sometimes loose contact depending on how the two side of the break are touching.  Warming in the sun causes the display to expand slightly, putting the electrical traces back in alignment.  Sorry to say, the problem will only get worse over time as the chemicals in the screen begin to oxidize.  Besides getting a new laptop, you only have 3 solutions:

    1. Replace the screen  (probably $200-$300)

    2. Use it as a "desktop" and get an external monitor for it.

    3. Live with the "dead area" and work around it.


  2. Called "dead pixels".

    If you can deal with them going out and back on then you'll have to.

    If not then you'll have to replace the d**n thing.
