If you're a girl you should be ordering a wedding dress by now, a church and reception place reserved and of course a budget.

Go out and buy a copy of Martha Stewart Weddings or The Knot or a similar Bridal magazine.  They all have wedding planners inserted into most issues.  Their websites have planning tools on them as well.

Otherwise go to Google and type in "Wedding Planner" or "Wedding Checklist".

talk with your future partner, know about yourselves more on likes and dislikes, plan for your honeymoon destinations.

Understand better for better life for a long term.

Ask about your partners wish and if you can do it

be healthy, take healthy food to satisfy your partner on bed

Start with your budget and make it priority to stick to it. Then set your date and book your:

ceremony/reception venue/s

wedding minister/celebrant

photographer

The above things are the most important things that should be done first. Then you can work on the following:

bridal attendants

Master of Ceremonies

colour theme

decor

attire

rings

cake

entertainment (band, dj, wedding singer)

transport

wedding stationary (invitations, rsvp cards, place cards...etc)

fitness and skin regimes

gifts for attendants

hair and make-up

flowers

centrepieces

wedding menu

honeymoon (things like passports are important)

ceremony plan

reception plan

Table plans

gift registeries

transport

wedding licence

well i am getting married may 2009 we got engaged september 2007 and i am done with planning all i need to do is finalize a fews things at thats it we started earlier so we wouldnt get stressed out and we could have fun doing it so far its been pretty smooth sailing i say you need to find a place and everything else from there will fall in to place congrats and happy planning

i would suggest going to

and making a profile

it gives you a checklist

of nearly everything you need to do

and it gives you a lot of different ideas

and places to get ideas

its amazing

the first thing i would choose though

(if you havent already)

is colors

those are important for almost every toehr aspect of your wedding

colors, and style

you could go totally vintage, or modern, or futuristic

you cna have it kinda beachy

or just totally traditional

how big you want it to be

then pick the place

the reception

the music

the food

the groomsmen/bridesmaids
