  1. Who cares about rugby league? its like the worst of rugby with the worst of American football altogether.

  2. Since 2000 (I think) we introduced a version of the play-offs that Australia used, namely......

    the teams that finish

    3rd v 6th (Game a)

    4th v 5th (Game b)

with the losers being eliminated and the winners playing each other the following week when also,

    1st v 2nd

the winners of 1st v 2nd then get a week off having qualified directly for the Grand Final (13.10.07), the losers then get another chance by playing the winners of the winners game a v winners game b match. The winners of that match also go through to the Grand Final.

So this year it has been,

    Week 1

    (a) Bradford (3rd) lost to Wigan (6th)

    (b) Hull (4th) beat Huddersfield (5th)

    Week 2

    (c) St Helens (1st) beat Leeds (2nd)

    (d) Hull (winners b) lost to Wigan (winners a)* Wigan were the away side because they finished in a lower position in the league

    Week 3

    (e) Leeds (Losers c) v Wigan (Winners d)

    Grand Final

    Saint Helens v Winners e

For Football fans; please go and have a lie down.

For boring copy-cat Union fans; Give it a couple of more years and it will be another idea that the RFU nicks from league like World cups (Our 1st was 1952), professionalism (1895), substitutes (1960's), blood bins (1990), sin bins (1995) etc etc
