hi all i'm in the middle of buying two bikes but don't know what size of bike i should get! can any bike rider help!!! thanks

  1. Most basic.  Straddle the bicycle and with your feet flat on the floor the bike's frame (the top tube) must not touch your most tender parts.  The seat can be adjusted later. Don't let them sell you one that is too big.  And smaller frames are lighter.  That's a lot of money invested. I'd get a road bike first, ride it lots, then think about the other one if I were you.

    MTB - about a 14"

    Road - <48cm

    With a road bike you must take more care in fit. Try looking at Sloping top tube designs. They are popular with short riders.

  3. I perosnally have been riding bike since I was in single digets. My preference is mountain bike- you can change tires if you want the speed but I like the mountain frames, you can get a pretty lightweight frame if you can spend a bit more.

    But it's up to you you really need to decide what is best for you
