What aspect of skateboarding do you want your business to do? Making boards, trucks and wheels? Clothing? Shoes? Safety gear?

Starting a skate park?

Organizing skate demonstrations at shows and festivals?

Producing the artwork for boards?

I agree with the first responder that you need to determine what parts of skateboarding you want to be in.  But don't think of it as a one-part only business.  The best business take the one thing that they are good at (in your case, skateboarding) and do a variety of things with it.  Each part helps support the other part - and it gives you different ways to bring in money if one part doesn't work out.

Start with making a list of all the different things you could do in your business.  For example, you could have an ebay store that sells/resells skate boards and related equipment.  You could offer lessons locally & try to get sponsors by doing events.

Then, move on to making a business plan.  And don't let those words scare you.  It's just a way to get your thoughts all in one place so you can get started.  It should include things like how much it could cost you, how you are going to advertise and the like.

The important thing is to get started and try stuff without spending too much money.  Since you have already reached the stage where you want to start your own business, you are way ahead of the pack.  Good luck!
