If you have any tips on getting a job in Germany it would be very much appreciated.

My German is also non existant!!

Tough call, over to you guys.

Thanks.

  1. maybe you should tell us, what experiences you have and where you worked before, than we may come up with better ideas!

also: where do you want to live? (just he area. and is it a bigger city or smaller town or country side?)

with a few more information we may come up with even more information and ideas!

  2. The "Classified" section of www.toytowngermany.com/ has a jobs section for English speakers.

  3. Well speaking is a must sorry to say. You will not find work if you cannot learn their tongue. Id suggest a course or tutor or something to help. Once you are there you can submerge yourself into learning it as I did.

I spoke Nada my first time and now 18 years later I speak pretty good.

If you are in the EU you do not need a Work Visa there but if you are not within the EU then you will need one unless you two get married and remain for like three years I think it is.

  4. First of all, the Foreign Office has some info at http://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/diplo/en/... . While most of it applies to non-EU citizens, you should take a look at it anyway.

The Federal Employment Agency lists open positions throughout Germany at http://www.arbeitsagentur.de/nn_27908/ze...  (German only, however). You should visit the next office in order to get some insight about the regulations, especially about the social security insurances which are mandatory in Germany.

At least in the bigger cities you should find British expat clubs. They'll help you.
