I have vaulted ceilings in the living room, so I don't think the mural will cover most of the wall. I only want it to cover over my couch~Very confuse on the measurement...Here are the sizes of the mural(41" l x 49 1/2" h) this one will go in my living room, I have no idea on how tall or wide this is..also confuse on what tape to use to measure my wall..The other size is(13' 8" l x 8' 3" h) this mural will go in my loft area..They seem to be very small but I don't know..Please help!!

  1. No real offense, but I'm confused about why you're confused.

Without seeing the layout of either space, and (thank you) for the measurements, AND that in the one case you state "cover over"??? my couch, why not center it over the width of the couch at a height that allows the center to be eye level when standing in front of it? That one at least, is relatively small. Obviously it comes no where near covering an entire wall.

The loft one is large, even in the sense of a mural, and have you wall space for it? Is the ceiling in the loft area at least 8 ft.??? That too might be centered, as a focal point without creating an unbalance look. Symmetry, is perhaps what you should strive for, yet, again, we can't know the layout, or the logistics, placement of any furnishings, etc.

No offense again, but are you unfamiliar with a tape measure? In your case a 20' seems adequate, and to find a center point, or any point, the process is extremely simple.

I suspect you should forget the fact that you have vaulted ceilings, especially for the couch mural. Does the loft sit above the first level in an open wall flow from first floor to ceiling?
