First of all, let me recommend book a ticket in advance.

You can book it by the following site:

Or else do not travel during the peak hours.

Foreign nationals can also use this system by entering their passport numbers on the English site.

tse chiang (Super Express- fast)

chu kuang (Express- fairly slow)

fu hsing (Ordinary- very slow)

The ordinary may stop at every station that you can imagine :)   Express will stop at most of stations.  Super Express will stop only a few stations.  

However, the fastest train in Taiwan is Taiwan high speed rail

However, some stations do not link up with the regular railway due to it's track.
