  1. as engineer u will have a pickup t transport u and its always airconditioned here.

accomodation will be bed space in a sharing room with not more then three persons in one room i suppose . not sure .

the salary is less compared to what the demand now a days here.

but hope u will get raise soon after u gain soem expereience

  2. The laborers in Dubai are badly treated. Many promises are made, but if you have to sleep in a crowded labor camp with 20 other men in your room, it will be very bad for you. since you are an engineer, you might have fewer guys in your room and you might be able to tolerate it. I do hope you haven't invested a lot of money into this. You will sometimes not get your salary on time. Bhatia is an indian construction company and they often try to dodge their staff. I feel if you are having a good life where you are, continue to be there .The amount of money they have offered you is not good for a site engineer. I am just a secretary with no education and I am earning Dhs. 6000 a month. No accommodation or transport for me ofcourse.

  3. Dear Santosh,

I suggest, this is not a salary to live in here. Please negotiate for a better package or please do not come.

Also please make sure that your contract is for unlimited period so that you can leave if you do not like. If it is a limited contract for 2 or 3 years you cannot leave even if you are dead without compensating the employer a average of 1/2 your three months salary.

I suggest you to think 10 times before comming here. First of things is prepare mentally about points that other contributors have written. You can only travel back home only after 1 year of completion.

  4. Santosh,

so you took the job. Well, I do not know if I should congratulate or feel sorry. A salary of Dhs 3.500 is nothing to enjoy life in Dubai. But, you made the bed, you lay in it.

I do not know a thing about the accommodation offered by Bhatia. Why did you not ask the recruiter directly? Some labor camps are just inhumane and some are decent. But mostly they are outside the city in the middle of nowhere and a bus carries the workers back and for.

Many big companies in industrial and construction fields in Dubai provide the accommodation for their huge number of workers in Aweer and Qussais (also known as Sonapur) areas. Public transport buses are frequently available in these routes and hardly 10 Kms far from downtown

Not knowing your present standard of living, I do not know what you call comfortable. It might be or it might not. But one thing is for sure: your privacy will be zero.
