I dont know much about it that is my child home worksheet says Prime numbers to101

    For e.g. 13... Only 1 and 13 evenly divide into 13. If you divide 13 by 2, 3, 5, 7 etc., you will get an answer in decimals. Your answer won't be a whole number. Another example is 23. Only 1 and 23 divide evenly into 23. Dividing by any other number will give you a decimal answer.

    Numbers that are not prime are called composite. Remember that 0 and 1 are neither prime nor composite, and 2 is the ONLY EVEN prime number. Also remember that not all odd numbers are prime numbers, but every prime number except 2 is odd.

    Prime numbers from 1 - 101 are: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97, 101.

    Examples:

    7 is prime, because the only way you can get it as a product is 1 x 7.

    12 is not prime, because you can write it as 2 x 6 or as 3 x 4.

    17 is prime, because the only way you can get it as a product is 1 x 17.

    91 is not prime, because you can write it as 7 x 13.

    1 is not prime. (It is an exception to the definition I gave you. Don't worry about why, but rest assured that there is a good reason 1 isn't considered prime--but the reason is a little complicated.)
