Question

Im trying to create an educational application/ web browser to join a competition. Is there anything in life which you or your love ones (of all ages) would like to learn more about?

Examples: Global warming, languages, leonardo davinci's painting, etc. Most interesting and special idea shall get a 5 stars ;)

Religions around the world, Native American mythology, South Park, carnivorous plants, the not-so-properness of composers (Mozart if I remember correctly wrote a song called in German, "l**k My ***").  Those things are more of a social or entertainment interest type of thing.  You may also consider what people are interested in because it is useful in their lives, such as how to afford college, how to get settled in a new job, and how to do well in an interview. One idea that I really like is what phrases and references in internet culture mean (such as "All your base are belong to us", "Charlie Goes To Candy Mountain", "Bump", "noob", "l337 5p33k", or "idk"; If you don't know what those are, wikipedia them.)
