For a person who doesn't have cable or satellite, but does have a high definition tv, will they get all the broadcast channels (when the signal switches over to the digital instead of analog- 2/17/09)?

  1. The switch over is not to high definition but from analog signals to digital signals.  It is the method of broadcasting that is changing.   Some of the digital signals will be broadcast in high definition and some will not.    If you have a relatively new high definition TV, it has a digital tuner.  You are probably all set for the changeover.  Just remember digital and high definition are not the same.  Digital is the form of the broadcast signal.  High definition is the quality of the picture,  which can be an analog or digital broadcast. (for now at least)

You will continue to receive  most ,if not all, the same channels you are now receiviing.
